We are pleased to offer customers on the FCG natural gas distribution system rebates on the following items:

Residential | Commericial and Industrial | Builders, Architects and Engineers

Residential Customers

The most energy efficient homes in Florida use electricity where it is necessary and natural gas where it is better. You need electricity for lights, televisions, and refrigerators, but natural gas is better for your larger energy requirements.

Residential Appliance Replacement Program
You qualify for cash rebates when you replace the following electric or propane appliances with natural gas appliances:

Water Heater - Up to $525 - If you already have a natural gas line to your home and replace your electric or propane unit, this could cover the entire cost of a residential tank unit. The new tankless units also qualify for rebate program.
Clothes Dryer - $100 - If you already have a natural gas line to your home, adding a gas dryer is only natural! You reduce the time required to dry your clothes and reduce your energy costs at the same time.
Kitchen Range or Cooktop / Wall Oven - $100 - Fast, precise temperature control, and lower operating costs are why 9 out of 10 professional chefs prefer cooking with natural gas. If you already have a gas line to your home, you too could be cooking with gas.
Space Heating - Up to $625 - Fast controlled heat, lower utility bills and long equipment life with low maintenance cost are just some of the reasons to switch to a natural gas furnace. In many cases it costs less to install a new high efficiency A/C unit and new energy efficient natural gas furnace when replacing an old heat-pump. You not only reduce your cooling and heating operating costs, but you may qualify for a larger electric utility A/C rebate, too.

Residential Reactivation Program
If your home has an existing inactive natural gas service line that we can reactivate, we can increase the total rebate up to an additional $200. To check if a service line can be reactivated, contact our local Sales Office. This rebate is not available if the service line has been previously disconnected for any reason from the distribution main. The Florida City Gas Sales Representative will inform you at the time of the survey if the rebate is available.

Residential Water Heater Retention Program
Current customers replacing an old natural gas water heater with a new natural gas water heater qualify for a $50 rebate. To download the application form, click here.

To Obtain a Rebate

Complete a rebate application form. One form is required for each appliance.
Copies of dated store receipts or invoices must be attached. The receipt must include the store name, the appliance and the purchase price.
Copies of a dated contractor receipt or invoice for the installtion of the appliance must be attached. The receipt or invoice must show the address where the appliance was installed, the installation date and the total amount charged for the installation of the appliance, the contractor's name and telephone number. The charges for the appliance installation MUST be shown separately from any other work included on the same receipt or invoice.

Limitations
The amount of Rebate is limited to the sum of the purchase price of the appliance plus the cost of the installation (if any) up to the maximum rebate amount for the appliance. Florida City Gas must receive all requests for a rebate application within 60 days of the purchase or installation of the appliance. Florida City Gas must receive the completed rebate application form with complete supporting documentation within 120 days of the purchase or installation of the appliance. An on-site inspection by a City Gas Company representative may be required to verify the installation of an appliance prior to the payment of a rebate.

Commercial and Industrial Customers
Smart business owners know the power of natural gas to control their operating costs and increase their bottom line. From air conditioning to thermal oxidizers, energy efficient natural gas is just good business sense. Because Florida City Gas has fully unbundled its commercial rates, business owners can now shop for the best gas price from a number of third party suppliers.

Commercial Conversion Program - Under this program, business owners can qualify for rebates of $75 per 100,000 Btu input rating on a wide variety of equipment.

Alternative Technology Program - This program offers customized incentives to business owners for non-traditional equipment installations, such as Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Generation, Co-generation, Dehumidification, Engine Technologies, Natural Gas Vehicles and more.

Builders, Architects and Engineers
Our Residential Builder Program pays cash rebates directly to the builder of single-family homes and multi-family buildings for the installation of any of the "Big Four" appliances:

Water Heater - $350
Clothes Dryer - $100
Kitchen Range or Cooktop / Wall Oven - $100
Space Heating - $ 350
Optional gas indoor and outdoor fireplaces, barbeque grills, pool & spa heaters, and gaslights are all possible with natural gas service.

Our Multi-Family Builder Program pays a cash rebate of up to $300 per unit directly to the builder of a multi-family dwelling of five or more units, for the installation of a natural gas central heating and/or water heating system.
