Florida City Gas employees are inextricably woven into the communities we are privileged to serve. You may see our crews working in your neighborhood or find us at community events.
Opportunities for employees to volunteer for community outreach are available with the Miami chapter of Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels, just to name a few. We also welcome opportunities to visit schools to educate students about careers in natural gas and natural gas safety. Additionally, the second week in May is Volunteer Week at Florida City Gas.
Red Nose Day
In June, FCG employees supported the Red Nose Day nationwide movement to aid children in poverty across the U.S. In addition to purchasing the red noses (which raises funds in all 50 states and abroad), the employees raised an additional $500 by collecting from Florida City Gas offices to support efforts to combat child poverty in Florida communities.
Funds raised were matched dollar for dollar by Florida City Gas vice president, Carolyn Bermudez. The $1,000 raised will be donated to the S.O.S (Start Off Smart) foundation located in Homestead, FL, and will be used in programs that assist children in poverty with meals, clothing and basic needs.
