City Gas begins serving customers in Dade County.

1960s

Service expands into Brevard County during the development of America's space program.

1988

City Gas becomes a part of NUI Corp. and extended its natural gas distribution system into Saint Lucie, Indian River, Martin and Palm Beach counties.

2004

We become a subsidiary of AGL Resources Inc., an Atlanta-based energy company, and change our name to Florida City Gas.

July 2016

AGL Resources becomes Southern Company Gas, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Southern Company.

Today

Florida City Gas becomes part of NextEra Energy.
